Release from most of my worldly goods

Since beginning this journey in my mind a couple of weeks ago, I looked at the things I had and decided what to store, what to sell, what to throw and what to give away.  I posted items on Facebook marketplace. I met one women who loved my side table. When I went away across town to sell it to her, she turned her nose up and said it was not worth 80 and drove off.  I went from there and gave it to the Salvation army.

My kitchen table was loved my another couple.  When they go there after a week they had no money and offered to give a 20 dollar deposit to take my 150 table.  I said no thanks. I stored it.

My tv and bed and fountain I sold to my good friend. And set my "Archie Bunker" chair and footstool of 20 years by the dumpster - no one would take it.

When I finally left town, everything was gone except what could fit in a 10 X 10 storeroom - mostly garden tools and woodworking tools.

On the final day of departure, after excitedly arising at 4:30 am, I worked on cleaning my apartment spic and span. I had already cleaned the refrigerator for the first time in my life - there were parts in there I did not know would move - and vacuumed the two bedrooms and cleaned on bathroom.  All closets were clean. So the only thing to do was wiping down all closet and pantry and kitchen shelves and baseboards with fabuloso and chlorox, taking out the final trash load, and mopping the floors and finish packing my truck.

Eight hours later at 4:00 pm, worn out and tired, September 10th, I set out for Many Islands Campground which I had stayed at three times in my life. After making it to Memphis and into Arkansas I talked to my mom and missed three Siri turns.  I finally hug up and took the fourth one and in the dark navigated through towns like Victoria, pop. 51.  Not on the Rand McNally Map - surprise.

The amazing thing was after hitting the road immediately all the tiredness and aches disappeared.

I was met by the Security guard at Many Islands at 11 pm. I was nervous because half way down the three mile gravel road, which I had forgot, I saw a sign for the camp which said NO PETS ALLOWED.

Fortunately, he approved Trooper for staying and I set up my tent and canopy in the dark.

The couple next door partied until 2 am and I finally slept and popped up to this at 6.
